POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

There are a number of policies all users need to observe when accessing ListOf.com. Here is a summary of the policies.

Policy

1. Constructive Criticism

Users will criticize the content of your lists at one time or another. And when this happens, bear in mind that this is constructive criticism on their part. ListOf.com encourages respect among its users. Personal attacks are strongly discouraged.

2. Creative Content

ListOf.com does not condone profanity or sexual content. Submitting lists containing such is strictly prohibited. ListOf.com reserves the right to delete these prohibited lists without prior notice.

3. Control Self-advertising

ListOf.com's primary purpose does not include promoting products. Sure, users can post lists of, say, prominent makes and models of cars. But the list should not be made to center on one particular make or model. Even if you can post hyperlinks from outside the site, ListOf.com still reserves the right to delete such links, if viewed as inclined towards self-advertising.

What ListOf.com is Not

To understand better what ListOf.com is, you also have to grasp what it is not. For starters, ListOf.com is:

• NOT a collection of articles. It is a collection of lists. Thus, no articles should be posted on the site. Lists, lists, and more lists are the only material accepted on the site.
• NOT a collection of links. Sure, you can post hyperlinks from outside. But the site is primarily for posting lists, not links. This should be minimized.
• NOT a stage for adverts. You can post lists of certain products, as long as there is some relevance. But if advertising is the main point of posting such a list, well, you can kiss that list goodbye.
• NOT a place for instructional materials. The site is made for lists, not articles bearing instructional content.
• NOT a blog. For obvious reasons, ListOf.com just is not a place for blogs. It just isn't.

External Links

ListOf.com allows you to post external links, as long as they serve a significant purpose. Links that will be allowed on the site are source links, and links that bear content that's related to the posted lists.

Links that will be deleted by the administrator or other users would be those bearing advertisement and sexual content. Links to a user's personal website might also be deleted, unless it serves a higher purpose, such as attribution or acknowledgement.
